Traditional foot care, including nail cutting, and treating problem nails, corns and callus is carried out with experience, care and skill.

Verrucas and fungal infections

Both verrucas and fungal infections of the skin and nail are common foot problems that can be stubborn and difficult to treat at home. At Carshalton Podiatry, expert knowledge of treatment options is employed to achieve the best results for each individual patient.

Vascular assessment

Initial assessment appointments include a vascular assessment, using Doppler ultrasound, to check the vascular supply/circulation to your feet.

Diabetic foot assessments

Full diabetic foot assessments, including vascular assessment of the foot with Doppler ultrasound and neuropathy testing, are carried out. A report of the assessment is provided for you and/or your GP. Foot pressures are also assessed with our Footscan pressure plate to determine any high-risk areas of your feet, allowing proactive care and reducing risk of diabetic foot complications.

Nail surgery

Nail surgery, a minor surgical procedure to achieve a permanent solution for ingrowing, involuted (overly curved) or excessively thick/damaged nails, is carried out under a local anaesthetic. Either the problematic edge of the nail or the whole nail is removed. The nail bed/matrix is then treated with a chemical to stop the problematic part of the nail from growing back.

Treatment of foot and ankle pain

Foot and ankle pain can be caused by injury or damage to any of the tendons, ligaments, bones, joints or nerves in the foot. At Carshalton Podiatry, we aim to not only diagnose the pathology, but to also work out the underlying cause. This allows treatment to be carefully tailored to you, optimising the healing process and getting you back on pain-free feet as quickly as possible. Orthotics / Orthoses

Orthoses are medical-grade insoles. At Carshalton Podiatry we offer Phits orthoses, which are created by translating your foot measurement data from our Footscan pressure plate into 3D-printed orthoses that fit your foot perfectly. Our orthoses are designed to support you in any type of activity - be it work, everyday use, or sports. We are also able to tailor orthoses to specific sports, such as football, golf and skiing.
